Review of Kidnapped by Dee Henderson

I'm a huge fan of Dee Henderson's books and I loved this
Kidnapped!
Someone snatched his cousin's wife and son. FBI agent Luke Falcon is searching for a kidnapper and sorting out the crime. He's afraid it's the work of a stalker. He's afraid they're already dead. And he'll do anything required to get them back alive . . . but he didn't plan on falling in love with the only witness. This stand-alone title is a repackage of what was previously known as True Courage, the fourth book in the Uncommon Heroes series.

FBI agent Luke Falcon met Caroline at the wedding of his cousin Mark to her sister Sharon. They are immediately attracted to one another and start dating; but he won't let her get beyond a certain point. After a year of the same situation, Caroline is ready to call it quits but before she has a chance to talk to her reluctant beau, Sharon and Mark and their son Benjamin...

Five Angel Review For Free Falling

I'm thrilled that Free Falling has been so well recieved by reviewers because it's one of my favorite romantic suspense stories. I loved creating Rainie's character. She's strong and couragous. I hope you enjoy her as much as I do.

'Free Falling is an action-packed read that grabbed this reader from the beginning. I love the character of Rainie. She has determination and drive to plunge into any situation head on to get to the truth. The way she is an agent and woman trying to cope with both sides is spun very well. I thought it made her realistic, especially when she knows she must do her job faithfully, as well as stay loyal to Roc, whom she loves more than life. There was a moment with her and Roc, when she felt a loss that my heart went out to her. I kept my fingers crossed throughout most of the story. Rainie is tough, yet tender, and I think that is why I enjoyed this book so much. Mary Eason fashions a wonderful read with in-depth characters, mind-blowing scenes, and lots of suspense to keep the reader glued. I really hope there will be more about these characters, down the road because I hated saying goodbye to them.'

More to follow---hopefully soon.

From my bookshelf: Heart of the Night...

Okay, it's Tuesday. We've survived Monday and we're almost to the mid-way point of the week.

We need something to pick us up.

So I'd like to suggest a good book.

Lately, I've been reading a lot of inspirational romances. My latest fancy is inspirational romantic suspense and let me just say, this isn't your mother's inspirational romance.

I just finished Heart Of The Night by Lenora Worth and I loved the book.

It's packed with suspense and cloak and dagger intrigue.

Secret agent Eli Trudeau grieved the loss of his wife and baby. Then he discovers his son is alive—and living with an adoptive mother, Gena Malone. Despite the secrets and lies, Eli can't deny the truth: Gena loves the boy. Yet Eli grew up without a father and won't do that to his own child. When someone dangerous comes after them, Eli takes Gena and his son deep into hiding. As he grows closer to them, he discovers that he's more than just a maverick operative. After his dark, troubled past, he's finally found faith and family. And he'll do anything to protect both.

I truly recommend this book if you are looking for a great suspense with lots of romance and a happy ending.

All the best...

I knew there was a reason I loved Harlequin Romances!

ROMANCE ROCKS.Harlequin's 60th anniversary is well underway, and so is our recession, but sales are going nowhere but UP. The last few weeks especially the media has been expressing happy surprise at the way Harlequin is reporting record sales during these tough economic times. The latest is a segment on ABC's Nightline - which is a great piece, and does concede that Romance does come from Canada. LOL. Favourite bits include Gena Showalter being told she looks innocent and yet naughty, one cover model that looks a lot like Greg Vaughn, and readings by male celebrities. Paul Rudd is fabulous and my personal favourite is Martin Bashir reading from Michelle Douglas's Harlequin Romance - The Aristocrat and the Single Mom.Other great press is an article from the NY Times - Donna Hayes (Harlequin's CEO) must be floating on air - and on the Today Show where it is called "Tall Tales of Lusty Love", tongue firmly in cheek.Today has been a crazy day. E-mails, doing a post for the PHS tomorrow, writing a short bit that will appear in cyber space soon, and running out to Best Buy for the new Il Divo CD. I heard a few songs and knew I had to have it for the new book. :-) Mostly I'm feeling very upbeat about it all, which is very very nice.

What's in a cover...

I don't know what it is about getting a new cover that just perks you up and makes you realize, hey, I really do have a new book coming out.

This week, I received the cover from Cerridwen Press for my upcoming release, ROOT OF ALL EVIL, (no release date yet, but I'll keep you posted).

So, of course, I'm posting it here. I love it!
Here's a little snippet of the blurb:
Anna Sorenson walked from everything to gain redemption. But she didn’t leave the past behind and even in paradise evil still existed. A year earlier, Anna Sorenson buried her husband Aaron. A week later, she lost the child she’d longed for. Anna’s only thought was to put the tragedy of the past behind her and find a way to survive in a post-Aaron world.
Agent John Delaney buried more than just his partner that rainy day one year earlier. He’d shoved aside his feelings, ignored the wrong he and Aaron had done in the name of justice, and hoped the past would stay dead. It hadn’t. It had gone after the woman he still loved and now John must choose between keeping his partner’s secrets and losing Anna again. This time forever.

Starting Easter Morning Off Right...

Starting Easter Morning Off Right...Here Are Some of My Favorite Easter MemoriesAs a child growing up on my Aunt Mabel's ranch outside of the small Texas town of Early, Easter was a special time of the year for us.
Me, Aunt Mabel and her best friend Trudy had our own Easter morning tradition. And we celebrated it faithfully.
We'd get up well before dawn, and made country hand and redeye gravy together. You see, I'd been cooking for just about as long as I'd lived with my aunt. But once I saw the old movie classic called Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn, where Audrey's character went away to culinary school abroad and created those lovely dishes with strange sounding names, well, I was hooked on cooking from that time forward.
Oh, I burnt my fair share of meals, but before I knew it, I was cooking most of our family dinners.
So on Easter Sunday, we'd have ham and redeye gravy and then we'd go out to the field behind my aunt's house and have our own sunrise service. It was the perfect setting for it.Then, we'd go to God's house to pay our respects and make it official.I hope you love this recipe as much as I do.Country Ham with Redeye Gravy
Here's a great way to start the day. Couple this with eggs for a substantial way to start the day. Ham and eggs - what more can anyone ask for?
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large country ham slice, about 1/2" thick
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
METHOD
Heat skillet until very hot. Pour in oil, then ham. (Oil is necessary for making gravy, as cured ham produces little fat.) Lower heat to medium and cook for 2 minutes per side. Remove from pan; keep warm. Raise heat and add coffee to hot drippings. Boil for about 2 minutes. Pour over ham. Serve with biscuits.
*Note: because it is cured, ham will overcook quickly and become too dry. Therefore, no more than two minutes per side is recommended for country ham. Truth is, you could eat it without cooking and probably not have any side effects because the curing process chemically cooks the ham. Cooking is recommended though to insure that heat will kill any trichinosis that may be present. If redeye gravy is too scary for you, try this old southern favorite: old fashioned sawmill gravy, a milk gravy.
Serves: 2
All the best...
